Vardenafil

It belongs to a class of medications called phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors, which increase the levels and activity of nitric oxide in the blood vessels of the penis. This leads to increased blood flow to the penis and a longer-lasting erection.
PDE5 inhibitors work by preventing an enzyme called phosphodiesterase-5 from destroying the cGMP hormone that causes an erection. When cGMP is destroyed, blood vessels are reduced in size and the erection ends.
Avanafil is available in 100 mg and 200 mg doses, and should be taken as needed 15 to 30 minutes before sexual stimulation. It should not be taken more than once a day.
