CLEVELAND-- The Cleveland Indians are still searching for their first win over the New York Yankees in 2018 after falling to the Bronx Bombers 7-4 at Progre sive Field on Thursday night. Most fans attending the contest were likely not expecting 11 combined runs to be put up-- after all, with Corey Kluber and Luis Nick Mullens Jersey Severino taking the mound, there would appear to be no safer matchup out there if you were betting on a game being a pitchers' duel. In the end, both teams got contributions throughout their lineups and the Yankees had just a bit more down the stretch. Here are three takeaways from the lo s.1. Kluber day Tribe ace Corey Kluber pitched 7 1/3 innings allowing eight hits, six earned runs, two walks and recording nine strikeouts. It's the first lo s he's earned in the last 75 games in which the Indians have given him four or more runs of support. Kluber didn't allow a hit until the third inning Y.A. In the fourth inning, Kluber gave up a leadoff homer to Didi Gregorius, and an RBI double to Greg Bird. After walking Gregorius and giving up an RBI double to Aaron Hicks, however, Kluber's evening was done. Kluber now has a 5.03 ERA over his last six starts for Cleveland, per . Another day, another Jose Ramirez homer Jose Ramirez homered in his third straight game in the fifth inning, tying the Mike McGlinchey Jersey longest home run streak of his career. With two outs in the frame, Ramirez sent a 1-1 four-seamer from Luis Severino over the right field wall, tying the game at four. It was the 28th home run Ramirez has hit so far this season. That's the most home runs any Cleveland Indian has hit in the first half of a season in franchise history, breaking a tie with Albert Belle, who hit 27 in 1996. Getting to Severino early The Tribe made a point of getting to the pitcher with the most 2018 first half wins on Thursday night, snapping Luis Severino's five game win streak. Severino earned a no-decision after giving up nine hits, four earned runs and striking out just one batter through five innings. Coming into Thursday, his ERA was just 2.12. The Indians put up two runs on the starter in the first inning thanks to an Edwin Encarnacion homer, and followed that up with an RBI single from Yonder Alonso in the third inning and Ramirez's homer in the fifth. Their two first inning runs are especially impre sive when you consider the fact that coming into Thursday night's game, Severino had given up either Laken Tomlinson Jersey 1 or 0 runs in 25 of his last 50 starts dating back to the beginning of 2017.
