Creating a beauty inventory system is a must for anyone with a large number of beauty products or anyone who wants to reduce their collection or spending. I have been using a comprehensive beauty inventory system to track the continuous development of my collection in terms of quantity and value over the years. Read on to learn how to create a comprehensive beauty inventory system.
Whether you are a beauty blogger, YouTube user, project panner, or just a major makeup enthusiast, today's post is for you. By learning how to build a comprehensive beauty inventory system, you will be more organized and better monitor your expenses.
Step 1: create your beauty list skeleton
Before you enter your inventory system, consider the indicators and details you want to record. By taking the time to evaluate what you want from your inventory system, you will decide what details you should track in your master product tracking worksheet.
Step 2: create a master product tracker
Accurately setting up master product tracking is essential to create a useful beauty inventory system. This tab will be updated as entries enter and leave.
Step 3: enter your data
If you have a large beauty collection, entering data into your main product tracking tag will be tedious. Be patient. If necessary, you can divide the task into several days to complete!
Step 4: use PivotTable to create category table
This is where things get interesting (and possibly confusing). If you are not familiar with PivotTable, this is essentially an automated feature that allows users to easily pivot or switch in Excel.
Step 5: create 2019 status overview using PivotTable
I use the status overview tab to track specific metrics, including:
Acquisition method - the ratio of my own collection to the collection given by others
Collection volume and value by category / subcategory and status
Changes year by year - differences in the size and value of the collection**
empty
Step 6: update and maintain your table
For two years, my original inventory system did not include PivotTables or master tracking labels. Although this system may be suitable for people who are not familiar with Excel, I find myself having to make a lot of manual updates. Manual updating makes me too lazy to update my spreadsheet in time.
