Suicide Programs Australia seeks to employ the modality of psychological first aid as a way of optimising mentally competent policies and discouraging suicides. Our courses equip participants with the skills to assist people in critical situations or in emotional distress right on the spot. The aim of the project is to reduce prejudice and increase the willingness of the population to seek help by developing a sensitive response from society. Education in psychological first aid response concerns the critical aspects of compassion, listening, and referral.
